Composition Roofing (Fiber Glass Shingles)

Composition roofing consists of shingles that are constructed with a fiber glass base membrane saturated in high grade asphalt which is imbedded with a colored ceramic granule in a pattern which gives you the quality look demanded by todays standards, while offering long term durabilty, and flame resistance.

Composition roofing is traditionally installed over an underlayment usually # 30 asphalt saturated felt fastened to a substrate normally 1/2" plywood or 7/16" OSB by nailing staggered consecutive courses overlapping each layer, and shielding the fasteners from the elements. Each shingle has a built in adhesive strip designed to resist the tremendous pressure from wind up-lift which offers years of service.
